What dividing by a fraction means
2 ÷ 1/2 asks how many halves fit in 2.
Divide by a fraction: count how many pieces of that size fit in the number.

Reciprocal: the fraction with the numerator and the denominator switched. The reciprocal of 1/4 is 4/1, or 4.
