Integers and Absolute Value

    What integers are

Integers include 0, the positive whole numbers, and the negative whole numbers.

Integer: 0, a positive whole number, or a negative whole number. Examples: −3, 0, 5.

Watch a point jump to its opposite

Opposites: 2 numbers at the same distance from 0, on different sides of 0. Absolute value: the distance of a number from 0. You write the absolute value of −5 as |−5|.

    1. Pick a type of number line.
    2. Drag the point. You can also click the line, or use the arrow keys.
