Percents

    What a percent is

    A percent is a rate per 100.

    25 out of 100 = 25%
    Percent (%): a rate per 100. 25% means 25 out of 100.

    0 out of 100 = 0% = 1 of 4 equal parts 25% of 80 = 20
    Find a percent of a number: write the percent as a fraction of 100. Then multiply. Example: 25% of 80 = 25/100 × 80 = 20.
