The Rock Cycle

    What the rock cycle is

Earth has 3 types of rock, and each type can change into a different type.

Igneous Forms when hot magma cools Sedimentary Forms from layers of sediment Metamorphic Forms from heat and pressure
Rock cycle: the slow processes that change rock from 1 type to a different type. The changes take thousands to millions of years.

Follow 1 rock through the cycle

Magma: hot liquid rock under the ground. Sediment: small pieces of rock, sand, and mud.

    Try it
